Home Instruments / Amps schools household PAT testing Contact Photos photos 2 Home
My repair business was initially set up to concentrate mainly on repairing musical instruments and audio equipment for schools, colleges and local music shops. It has now however expanded to include school Science equipment, Household items (such as Dysons, Vacuum cleaners, Tumbledryers, answerphones, Hi Fi, DIY tools etc). I have also recently added a PAT testing service. My background is based in the Electronics Industry where I worked for 25 years as an Electronics Engineer for several large companies including Matra Marconi, Allen Bradley, Com-Dev Europe, Fernau Avionics and Racal Acoustics.
I can arrange to collect any equipment for repair and deliver it back again once repairs have been carried out. For this service i charge a fixed fee of £10 (up to 10 miles) or £15 (up to 25 miles) Per collection or delivery, irrespective of how many items there are. In addition to this if the labour cost totals more than £200 then the collection/ delivery costs are Free. This can be quite a saving in itself as postage and packing fees can be very costly for several large pieces of equipment being returned to the manufacturer for repair. At present I aim to have a turn around time of about a week, assuming spare parts are readily available.
I do not charge anything for any item that cannot be repaired or is not financially viable to repair, whereas most manufacturers will charge a fixed fee just to look at a piece of equipment irrespective of whether or not it can be repaired. Alternatively you may arrange to deliver and collect items for repair yourself.
Repairs are charged at £20 per hour plus parts. If required i can give a quote before proceeding with the repair or alternatively you may wish to set a maximum that you are prepared to pay for the repair and i will contact you if it will exceed this.
